Our story
The 2 and the 5 in Church25 reminds us that we serve a supernatural God – 25 comes from the story of when Jesus multiplied a little boy’s lunch (2 fish and 5 loaves) to feed 5000 (Matthew 14:13-21). This miraculous account reminds us that all we’re to do is bring to Jesus what we have, although we may think it’s insignificant, in God’s hands it can be multiplied to feed the many.
Greg and Candice are happily married and have been in ministry together for 10 years, their heart is to build family and to lead people into a supernatural lifestyle of hosting the presence of God.
We are those who seek out and host the presence of God, we recognize that we are stewards of his presence. As adopted sons and daughters of God we endeavour to be those who walk out and model a dynamic, loving and fun relationship with our Heavenly Father.
All our interactions with one another are conducted from a position of honour, we recognize the intrinsic value of each person, as those who are made in the image of our triune God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that we are a people who are loved by God and that to express our love towards Jesus, we will obey Jesus’ commands and we will love one another.
We believe that Jesus died to set us free from sins, not only through the forgiveness of sins but from the power of sin expressed in our lives. As sons of God, we are to grow into, and to model the same freedom from sin that God the Son (Jesus) has.
We will always hold a position of humility because we are told in scripture that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
We honour Israel as the root from which Christianity grows, we recognize that salvation comes from the Jews and we pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the nation of Israel.
We understand that God has placed us in South Africa for service to this nation, because of this we serve and uplift local communities, not only spiritually but also practically, through alms giving, social and community upliftment. We partner with other local churches to bring economic upliftment in our local communities and beyond. Our mandate is for our city, for our nation and for Africa.
We believe that culture is established from the family unit upwards, we build healthy families, healthy communities, healthy cities and healthy nations. We value one another and desire to live in unity with our brothers in Christ.
We believe that God redeemed us to become royal priests, as such we are anointed, just like Jesus with the precious Holy Spirit and Power (Acts 10:38). Because of this we will do as Jesus did and will operate with signs and wonders in the power of the Holy Spirit. We will present ourselves to be trained in the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that we would be those who represent Jesus well.
We believe that the works of our hands will be judged and that Jesus will reward us for our service in his Kingdom, because of this our mindsets are calibrated to understand that this life is temporary and that we are those who live for eternity. Our primary desire is that we would be those who would bring Jesus, the Darling of Heaven, his full inheritance.
We recognize that we need the input of apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists and pastors, because of this we seek out regular input from fathers and mothers in the body of Christ, so that we too might become a fully-functional five-fold church.
We believe that we are those who must partner with God through prayer to bring the Kingdom of Heaven down to earth, we consider prayer and intercession as vital to mission of the church.
We value worship as our gift unto God, we desire to be skilled in this pursuit but more importantly we desire that our hearts express a pure devotion to Jesus.
We value the Bible as the word of God, as God inspired and inerrant, we endeavour to have a full understanding of the word of God, moreover we will never violate or operate contrary to what God has said in the holy scriptures.
We recognize that the Holy Spirit is God’s chief representative here on earth, that he will guide us into a deeper relationship with God the Father and God the Son. We will pray like the revivalists of old – Jesus give us more of your Spirit, so that we can see many come to the saving knowledge of Jesus.
We are those who believe on and rely upon the supernatural provision of God, we believe that God will take any person’s two fish and five loaves and cause it to multiply for his glory.
Church25 relates to an apostolic team called Agape Freedom Fighters. The team is led by Joanne Moody who was miraculously healed after 14 years of chronic nerve pain, she has travelled all over the world sharing her testimony and equipping the saints to minister in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.
Church25 serves as a multi-generational church, the harvest is plentiful and because of this we need future generations to be built up and prepared, so that the work can continue. Kids25 is about loving and growing children in the knowledge of the Lord, so that they might always know how precious and powerful they are to him.
